Reef Restaurant

Reef restaurant is a beautiful waterfront venue. If you can't get window table then you are missing out big time. We did not get it. Service a bit slow, forgetful. We ordered our drinks, but the host forgot to order. We sat for 10-15 minutes with our menus closed, ready to order. Unfortunately, at 12:15 they already ran out of the lobster special dish. Maybe we were lucky, because table next to us got their lobster and complained about it. Getting a replacement dish. They were extremely unhappy with multiple staff attending to that table. We received our drinks late, but the food was delivered timely. Seared scallops were a highlight. Oysters were nice, fresh. Duck breast main course was good, with excellent sauce and all ingredients on the plate. Fish of the day served with bug also good. I would come back only if we can seat by the window, because the view is amasing.

The view from this restaurant was amazing. My friend and I had the 3-course menu and both of us were happy with the food. The seafood & steak was cooked well. The dessert (mille feuille) was delicious but we wished there was more cream & less jam. It didn't stop us from eating everything though. I wish they had more wine options too.

Good view and friendly staff. We went here for our anniversary celebration and ordered the two course banquet option for $89 each. This was good value for money. The staff were friendly and provided useful advice on the menu. The food however, could have been a bit better. For the entrée, I had the scallops with cauliflower, which was a bit bland. For the main, I ordered the grilled pear - most of the dish was tomatoes and broccolini with only 3 pieces of actual grilled pear. Overall, it was still an enjoyable experience and I would definitely eat there again.

The moment we stepped inside we were warmly greeted. We were seated without delay. Had a great view of the beach and surrounds. The waiter (Ben) was attentive and very forthcoming about what was on the menu and if we had any dietary requirements. The food was superb and very well presented. I can not fault the staff at Reef Restaurant. Will definitely return!

Hubby and I came for an early dinner on Saturday night to celebrate our anniversary. Reservation says 1h45min max seating time but we were there for 3.5hrs….!! Food took incredibly long even though we arrived at 6:30 (and should have beat the rush)- Canapés came at 7pm, entrees 7:30, mains 9:15pm! Dessert 9:50pm. The reason I’m still giving it 4 stars is for the service. Our waiter was excellent as well as Manager Ben. I waited 30min before asking where our mains were (we didn’t receive any updates before that) but were promptly compensated. Luckily we weren’t rushed for time and had grandparents babysitting - if we were paying for a babysitter or if we had come with our young children it would’ve been a different story. The highlight dish was the market fish- cooked to PERFECTION. The eye fillet also cooked as a med rare should be👌🏼Seafood laksa didn’t taste like laksa sorry. Pork belly a bit dry and the chip soggy. Canapés and bread delicious, apple tart tartin ok. Thanks again to the service team - it’s hard finding good customer service so please keep it up! I know the wait staff can’t control what happens in the kitchen but often cop the angry customers, so thank you for handling it well. This is my second visit (last visit 3 years ago) and yes I would come back. Thanks for a memorable anniversary dinner😅

Great atmosphere, basking in the winter sun having lunch at a window table overlooking Terrigal Beach. The service was amazing and all the dishes we ordered were fantastic, well presented and very tasty. We had three courses and they all came out at a pleasant pace. The wait staff often checked to see if the food was to our liking and if we required anything. When we visit Terrigal again we will definitely return to this gem of a restaurant.

The food looks better than it tasted ( it was average good). Nice views and a convenient place to have a walk around the wonderful area. Our order (even we were 11 people) was fater than expected. And we had a wait staff asking us if we wanted some more water. We were eating on the first floor, which is less fancy than the second floor. Bathroom were a bit smelly though.

The restaurant had an incredible view over Terrigal Beach and I was glad that we had arrived early to enjoy it before it got dark outside. The restaurant offers a set price for a 2 or 3 course menu, which includes a drink and canapes. The canapes were Pickled Prawn, Meatballs and Bread & Olives, all of which were delicious! For entree we had Scallops and Baby Octopus. Both were perfectly cooked, the caramelisation of the scallops was 👌👌I would have preferred something else, maybe a Cauliflower Puree instead the Corn Puree but it was nice all the same. For mains we ordered: - Huon Salmon - Duck Breast x 2 - Market Fish - Parmesan Brussel Sprouts x 2 - Pommes Frites - Kids Steak, Chips and Salad (requested only tomatoes and cucumber) The mains were all delicious and the flavour pairings were spot on! We were encouraged to get 2 portions of brussel sprouts to share but we definitely only needed one as the portions were huge. I also would have liked an added wet element with them, maybe a balsamic glaze or Vincotto, as they were a touch dry, but still yummy. I also would have preferred fat chips to skinny chips, but that's always my personal preference. The kids steak was cooked perfectly and a great size 👌 For dessert we ordered: - Crema Catalana - Eton Mess x 2 - Affogato - Kids Ice-cream with Toppings The desserts were presented beautifully. I loved the different elements in the Eton Mess, especially the Italian Meringue. The whole dining experience was excellent, from the venue and the staff to the food and drinks. We would definitely return if in the area!
